Haflong Music Association (HMA) & Meltpot Entertainment Inc. is organising 'ROCK 4 PEACE' on the 19th of Aug. 2010 at Cultural Hall, Haflong keeping in view the present scenario of the place. Peace is the utmost requirement for development and Youths being the backbone of any society the event aims to encourage & inspire the young people to work towards a peaceful co-existence leaving aside feelings of race, caste & religion. Music is a driving force in the lives of the youths and we want to spread the message of peace through music.

We call on everyone to come and lend a helping hand at spreading the message. All you gotta do is "ROCK 4 PEACE"

ABOUT THE BANDS

MAESTRO

The Band Maestro was crafted with the opinion of all the band mates,when finally their point of view was to be a Maestro. The mates were just like a coin before Maestro was formed ;they were all from different Genre with different Bands, but when finally they met together in a stiff situation, they had the same view in their minds to make an immortal image in all gigs, from there a big hand with a hard fist started in a small town called, HAFLONG. Maestro has an influence over the genre of Rap-Metal, New Age Progressive, Groove Radio Metal. Maestro's original composition are about the world in which every living being is facing a new challenge everyday including their own experiences in the quest for their own existence.

Maestro achievements so far are, Campus Rock Idol 2007 Finalist, Finalist in Hornbill National Rock Contest 2007 and 2008, Rewarded as Best Guitarist Award in Hornbill National Rock Contest 2008.

PHONETIC RENAGE

Phonetic Renage was formed in the year 2009 with members Anish Nunisa (Vocals), Harsh Naiding (Guitars), Krishna Chetri (Guitars), Tinthang Khelma (Bass) and Joydeep Nunisa (Drums). Phonetic Renage mostly play Hardcore, Metalcore Melodic Metal. The Bands influence includes Killswitch Engage, Lamb of God, Children of Bodom, Trivium amongst others.

By 2010 Phonetic Renage changed its Drummer and Vocals to Dityajit Langthasa and Devjoy Jorasa.

Phonetic means 'Vocal Sound' and Renage means 'Failure to keep a Promise'.

LITTLE GEEKS & DA FREAKS

The Band was originally formed in the late stages of 2007. It was formerly a School Band by the name "The Grimreapers".

Some of the events we played were:

• The Summer Youth Festival at Dibarai
• The Bushu Festival and some other small gigs.

The Band was disbanded due to studies during the period 2008-09 but now we got the chance to play once again by a new name "Little Geeks & Da Freaks".

We are inspired by our elder brothers and our main influences are Metalcore, Progressive Rock, Alternative & Heavy Metal.

Line Up - Chomon Gorlosa (Vocals), Siddharth Kemprai (Lead Guitars), Arup Hapila (Rhythm Guitars), Dhruv Langthasa (Bass), Sohail Hojai (Drums).

444

The Band 444 was formed during mid 2005. The band consists of Four (4) members with inclination towards Three (3) separate Genre of Music hence the name 444 (Triple 4). The Band has performed at many Local Festivals & Concerts and were the opening act for the Manipur Beat Contest Winner of 2009 - LIA. 444 is inspired by Bands like Lamb of God, Pantera, RATM, Satyricon amongst others. The Band already has a few originals ready to be released as Singles. Every performance that the Band does starts with their own original composition which is a very positive and confident approach to what might be a glorious future ahead.

SOT RECHO

Hailing from the beautiful Town of Umrangso, Sot Recho are a band that can give anyone a run for their money. Formed on the 19th of February 2007 (to be precise) Sot Recho is inspired by Metal of the Melodic kind. Winners at 'Rock Chapell', Karbi Anglong they are a sight to see when they assault the stage at their optimum capacity.

Line Up - Charles Timung (Vocals), Tomlal Mogon (Guitars/Keys), Charles Ngamlai (Lead Guitars), Banim Engti (Bass), Sarbasu Timung (Drums).

After a long long break finally a BEAT CONTEST is on its way @ Haflong. A presentation of Meltpot Entertainment Inc. LOUD LORD promises to be a grand affair with many Bands participating. The winner walks with a lot of CASH & THE TITLE OF - THE BEST BAND. The contest will last one complete month and the one Band left standing after 4 gruelling weeks of Loud, Kick-Ass music will be crowned the ULTIMATE BAND. Project 3 ( N.C. HILLS ICON - 2008)

2008

N.C. HILLS ICON became the biggest entertainment project successfully completed in the history of this District. Never before did an entertainment programme lasts for more than a week or max 2 weeks but with ICON that changed permanently. ICON lasted for more than 3 Months and the Winner walked away 50,000/- Rs. Richer. Not even the Autonomous Council or CEM's had ever given such a prize EVER! ICON has made itself an ICON with its success and thousands were awaiting its return for its second season in 2009 but once again SHIT HAPPENED and the Dimasa-Zeme ethnic flare-up alongside the arrests of some of our GREAT POLITICIANS and subsequent fall of the then N.C. Hills Autonomous Council made it impossible to organize.

2010 might be the year ICON returns with a bang and if that happens you will know it .......FOR SURE!

THE YEARS (2001-2005) III

2003

In 2003 everything was shitty basically due to the Dimasa-Hmar ethnic flare up. When priority is to keep yourself from getting killed i guess even a numbnut like me has to stay low. Sorry guys but no Concert this year.

2004

Well this year we did have a Concert in fact a Big one - 'VIBES 2004'. But unfortunately the digital camera made its debut in Haflong and some tech guru deleted all the pics by mistake or should i say 'Khujli'. If someone somewhere went old school that day by using an "analog" camera - Aainzhe!!! please be kind enough to mail it to me here - daodaulagupu@ymail.com.

2005

As much as i wanted to organize a show the circumstances just won't let me. I was pursuing my Masters' in Guwahati and could only stay for a few months in Haflong. The same thing followed in 2006 & 2007. And the few months i was here in Haflong was spent making Dini (06) & Baashain (07). But i will like to post this image which was taken when i was in H.S. 1st Year at H.G.C. or should i say during my Paranoid & Wasting Love days. The song we are playing in the picture is .............. no points for guessing.................PARANOID................. jeow jeow jeow tere tere tere tere........

2002

2002 saw 'ROCKABLAZER' - the mix was no money, itchy throat & itchy fingers, post exam boredom, mentally unfit friends and love (with a new girl everyday). Somehow we were able to manage the money for the sound system and everything else required had to be managed with personal belongings. Still remember how we carried Bamboos for the stage from my place @ Convent Road to C.I.H. through the main road coz we had no money to hire a pick up truck or Taxi as we call it. At the end of the day it was all worth it. Salute to the human spirit.

Dats what u get when u mix - a Concert gone exceptionally well, Beer, lack of sleep, and a bunch of mentally unsound but really good friends........ A picture 4 life or should i say a picture with life.

2001

It was in the summer of 2001 (May to be precise) that me and my friends decided to organize a Beat Contest just to kill time and also to give relief to our itchy fingers which had just begun playing what to us sounded like good music. H.S. 2nd year exams were over and college could wait for a few months and so 'ACOUFEST-2001' seemed a good and the only option. It was the success of the show and the fun we had making it that just made us, especially me go on and on and on and before my very eyes 10 years just flew by. I miss those years and most importantly I MISS MY FRIENDS.....all of them. Now all i can do is look at these pictures and smile.......helplessly knowing its never gonna come back.................... To all my Friends and the time we had.......................... PEACE!!!!!

Project 2 - Baashain

Baashain was made in 2007 under Dimabong Productions. Technically it still is the Best Dimasa Video Album till date. Out of the 8 videos in it, i am putting up the one which was the most fun to shoot. The rest was great too but this one is special. Promit arriving in a brand new cherry red Santro, Monalisa down by the River and Kuldip with that piece of Log on his shoulder. Damn! that tree was stubborn.... had a tough time cutting it down.

PROJECT 1 - DINI

Dini (Today in English) was the 1st venture of Meltpot. It was also the 1st Dimasa language short Film from Haflong released in the year 2006. Here is a video clip from that movie. In fact this clip was the ad trailer used prior to the release. Had a blast making it. Remembering the countless no. of cigarettes we flushed for one great shot and my favourite,"oii! nisi Masainjik na Gunjung ni Burun?"..............Priceless!!!!!

Meltpot - The Journey So Far

Meltpot Started in 2006 and will complete 4 years of its existence on the 21st of June. Here's a look at the somewhat unsteady (But who can blame considering its 'The Haflong' inside 'The Dima Hasao') yet very fulfilling 4 years.Here's a look at the journey so far.

Meltpot Entertainment Inc., a Media production Company, came into existence in the year 2006 with the objective of producing and undertaking projects portraying the immense potential of Dima Hasao to the world outside and also to give to its own people, quality media products that is entertaining and at the same time informative.

Meltpot Entertainment has a DREAM; a dream for the place and its people; a dream in which it sees itself at par with the rest of the world. It plans to march towards achieving those objectives with a positive attitude and by undertaking positive projects. It has, is and will always endeavor towards doing the best and giving the best to its place and its people. Every Project that Meltpot Entertainment undertakes is known for its class and quality.

We hope to see you sooner than you imagine at one of such undertakings.
